Last fall we took a field trip to Sunshine Farms to visit the pumpkin patch. As we were driving home Carter said he read a sign that said you could pick strawberries in April and he wanted to come back. Ok son, sure thing, however that thought never ran across my mind again.
About two weeks ago we were changing our school calendar from March to April. First thing out of Carter's mouth was....MOM! It's April! We can go pick strawberries!!! I couldn't disappoint, so today we took another field trip.
Only directions - grab your bucket and go. And go they did!
The strawberries were a plenty. The hard part, just which ones do you pick?
I have never had such melt in your mouth strawberries. Can't get fresher than right off the vine and not to mention the warmth from the sun. Oh....they were so good!
Three buckets full later we were on our way home :) Thanks for the reminder Carter. It was a great day.

How fun! Oh to be in the deep south again where you can pick strawberries in April! :) We've picked strawberries at Huber's before but they aren't usually ready for another month or so. And you're so right...no strawberries are more delicious than those hand-picked straight off the vine!
