Ballerina Party
I mentioned before that Isabel had two birthday parties. One was rainbow theme with the grandparents & her brothers. The other was what she talked about wanting for months - an all girl ballerina party. No boys allowed!
There was the getting ready which involved lots of pink and a splash of orange, because we all know Isabel's favorite food is Cheetos.
And some creative hanging skills. That's plastic tablecloths cut in half. I believe figuring out how to attach the balloons to the ceiling fan was the hardest part.
Waiting the arrival of the entertainment of the party.
If you know me, then you know there is a craft involved. The making of their own ballerina.
The highlight of the ballerina party - the real ballerina!
They got to learn how she ties her shoes.
Then dance with her
Isabel loves to watch Angelina Ballerina, so the ballerina read the book, Angelina Birthday.
Then it was time to sing & blow out candles.
To have some free time fun, I made bubble wands out of pipe cleaner (which worked great) and the girls had their own cup of bubbles to blow.
Attach some crepe paper to a dowel rod and tada you have dance twirly sticks.
After the girls spent some time dancing and playing and the gifts were open it was time for everyone to head home. As everyone walked out the door they got their ballerina and a marshmallow pop as a thank you for coming and celebrating Isabel's 5th birthday.
This little girl couldn't have been happier.
Big thank you goes to Mrs. Paula for letting us party at her house and my sister who is the best at helping me plan and pull these parties together! Thanks ladies!

It's my party...all weekend long
Isabel turned 5 this past week and somehow she managed to have some sort of celebration for several days in a row plus two different parties. Hey, you only turn 5 once right?!
On her birthday we started the day out with rainbow pancakes on the birthday plate.
Not long after she received balloons at the house from her Grammie. Great surprise!
We had all the grandparents over to celebrate and her choice of theme was none other than rainbow.
Each of the kids get to pick what kind of cake they want on their birthday and my sister and I make it happen. This year was pretty simple in the cake department.
Turning 5 also meant she got her first big girl bike and it's HOT pink.

Something she had told her grandaddy awhile back that she wanted was two ken dolls. She doesn't play Barbie's that much so I was kinda surprised, but girl had motive....
Being the only girl she figured her brothers would play Barbie's if they had a "boy" doll to play with. It worked.
Happy 5th Birthday to my baby girl!

Easter 2012
This year our Easter celebrations looked a little different than it has in the past.
Our church along with two other house churches and one local church in the area gathered together on Sunday night, April 1st. Together we celebrated a Passover Seder meal. A first for me.
The kids and I got to make 90 Matzo balls to make Matzo soup. Which even though the kids didn't think they looked very tasty, they were very yummy if you ask me.
I also made a new purchase to add to our home library. The Donkey who carried the King by R.C. Sproul. We read this book in addition to reading the story in our Jesus Storybook Bible.
We also had some fun with other things associated with Easter like....huge marshmallows to make rice krispies.
First Easter Baskets
Getting all dressed up in new outfits and egg hunts in the backyard
And the favorite of all....dying Easter eggs
It was a wonderful Easter!

Not Me Monday
When needing to get a few things accomplished around the house, I do NOT put my baby in his high chair and give him a few crackers topped with Nutella.
